Bac Ninh Strengthens Its Status as a Leader in Vietnam’s Foreign Direct Investment Scene

Supported by expanding transport infrastructure and an investor-oriented policy environment, Bac Ninh province continues to position itself as a key destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) enterprises.

Over the years, Bac Ninh has stood out not only for the scale of registered capital but also for the profile of investment inflows. The presence of global corporations in electronics, high-tech manufacturing, and supporting industries underscores this trend. As Vietnam integrates further into global supply chains, Bac Ninh is increasingly seen as a strategic manufacturing base in northern Vietnam.

According to data from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Bac Ninh consistently ranks among the country’s leading provinces in attracting FDI in high-tech sectors such as electronics, semiconductors, and precision components. This distinction highlights the province’s vital role in Vietnam’s journey toward becoming a global manufacturing hub.

A robust industrial ecosystem, a sizeable skilled workforce, and an administrative framework aimed at transparency have strengthened the province’s competitive position within the Northern Key Economic Region. Businesses looking for a stable and reliable environment are increasingly drawn to Bac Ninh, as it ticks all the right boxes for investment.

Beyond these structural advantages, transport connectivity in the Hanoi metropolitan area has been a significant factor influencing investment decisions. The ongoing Ring Road 4 – Capital Region project is being expedited and is expected to serve as a strategic corridor linking Bac Ninh with Hanoi and Hung Yen, alongside major gateways such as Noi Bai International Airport and Hai Phong Port. Enhanced connectivity not only shortens travel times but also reduces logistics costs, making industrial parks along this route, especially those catering to high-tech manufacturing, even more enticing.

This developmental strategy aligns with Vietnam’s broader socio-economic goals articulated in the 14th National Party Congress, which prioritizes the selective attraction of high-tech and core technology sectors—such as semiconductors, data centers, artificial intelligence, and automation—while discouraging labor-intensive or environmentally high-risk projects. This shift necessitates that industrial parks offer adequate land availability, clear legal status, and sufficient capacities in utilities like electricity and water supply.

However, the availability of large, contiguous industrial land plots in Bac Ninh has become increasingly constrained. Many existing parks are nearing full occupancy or only present smaller parcels, which may not meet the expansive needs of larger projects eager to establish their operations.

In this context, Yen Phong II-A Industrial Park distinguishes itself by offering approximately 50 hectares of contiguous, cleared land with legal documentation and Land Use Right Certificates ready for transfer to interested investors. Crucial transport links, including National Highway 18 and the newly constructed National Highway 3 overpass connecting the park to surrounding industrial zones, have been completed ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year. This enhancement significantly boosts regional connectivity.

As part of the broader logistics and industrial cluster ecosystem, Yen Phong II-A Industrial Park boasts integrated infrastructure designed to cater to the operational needs of high-tech manufacturing projects. According to the investment department of Western Pacific Group, the park has been approved with a power supply capacity of 199.2 MVA, which is reportedly higher than that of several neighboring industrial zones. This substantial capacity is essential for projects demanding a stable and high-volume electricity supply.

With ongoing infrastructure enhancements and improved policy clarity at both central and local levels, Bac Ninh is entering a pivotal phase of industrial development. The province’s industrial parks are set to play a crucial role in attracting FDI and supporting the growth of high-technology manufacturing in Vietnam.
