In a significant development for Vietnam’s industrial landscape, WHA Group, a leading industrial park developer from Thailand, is set to break ground on a new industrial park in Thanh Hoa. This $55 million investment, known as WHA Smart Technology-Thanh Hoa, marks a pivotal moment for both WHA Group and Vietnam’s growing reputation as a manufacturing hub.

Covering an expansive 178.51 hectares across four communes in Hoang Hoa district, this industrial park is poised to enhance the region’s economic landscape. Construction is slated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the project organized into three defined phases. The first phase will encompass 66 hectares and is expected to kick off in Q4/2025, followed by a second phase covering 70 hectares from Q1/2026, and concluding with the final phase of 42.51 hectares starting in Q2/2026.

WHA is committed to delivering this extensive project within a tight timeframe, with a goal to complete and operationalize the entire site within 36 months after receiving land approval from local authorities. This ambitious timeline underscores WHA’s dedication to expanding its footprint in Vietnam and responding to the increasing demand for industrial real estate in the region.

WHA Group’s portfolio in Vietnam is substantial, with current operations spanning 3,650 hectares of industrial zones that are either operational or under development. Notably, the WHA Industrial Zone 1 in nearby Nghe An province has already established a strong presence with two phases totaling 500 hectares now operational, contributing significantly to the local economy. Meanwhile, WHA Industrial Zone 2, also in Nghe An, is positioned for future development with 189 hectares in its first phase awaiting project approval within the current year.

Extending its ambitions further, WHA Group is planning to unveil three additional industrial parks in Thanh Hoa and Quang Nam provinces, collectively covering a total area of 1,550 hectares. This proactive expansion reflects WHA’s confidence in Vietnam as an attractive destination for foreign investment.

This expansion comes amid a broader context in which Vietnam is increasingly viewed as a strategic alternative for manufacturers seeking to diversify their supply chains, particularly in light of ongoing trade tensions between China and the U.S. WHA Corporation’s CEO and chairperson, Jareeporn Jarukornsakul, has emphasized that Vietnam stands out as the “best destination” for companies looking to relocate from China to Southeast Asia.

Highlighting the advantages Vietnam offers, Jarukornsakul pointed out the competitive labor market. She noted that labor costs in Vietnam are generally lower than in Thailand, and the country boasts a vibrant, young workforce which presents significant opportunities for businesses aiming to establish or expand their operations in the region.
