ADG will retain its remaining 30 per cent stake under the ownership of its existing shareholders, including its chairman and founder, Vu Minh Tuan. This partnership marks a significant collaboration aimed at expanding M1’s reach beyond Singapore.
Through its wholly-owned subsidiary, AP Tech Holdings Pte. Ltd., M1 will pay a total purchase price of approximately VND 719.9 billion (around $28.4 million). This investment signals M1’s intent to bolster its presence in the rapidly evolving technology sector in Southeast Asia.
ADG has established itself as a trusted provider of IT products and services in Vietnam over the past 18 years. With a robust network of more than 2,000 local agents and partners, ADG operates in major cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, and Can Tho. The company prides itself on its team of over 190 skilled employees equipped with deep market knowledge, positioning itself as a vital link between Technology Principals and System Integrators in the region.
The portfolio of advanced technology offerings by ADG includes high-performance networking solutions, innovative computing services, and comprehensive customized solutions tailored for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as larger enterprise customers. The firm collaborates with over 20 global technology partners like CommScope, Dell Technologies, Fujitsu, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Juniper Networks, Nvidia, and Oracle, showcasing its wide-reaching capabilities and resources.
This acquisition is not merely a financial transaction; it represents M1’s strategic entry into the Vietnamese market. As Vietnam’s technology sector continues to boom, driven by its National Digital Transformation Programme, M1 is positioning itself to tap into lucrative growth opportunities in this vibrant marketplace.
The integration of ADG into M1’s framework is expected to enhance M1’s regional expansion strategy. This acquisition aligns with M1’s existing capabilities through its subsidiary, AsiaPac, which specializes in hybrid multi-cloud competencies, AI solutions, and managed services. The partnership will not only facilitate access to new markets but also promote innovation through the establishment of a global center of excellence for application development.
M1’s CEO of Connectivity, Manjot Singh Mann, expressed enthusiasm regarding the acquisition, stating, “This acquisition marks a significant milestone as we expand M1’s footprint into Vietnam and continue our expansion into the enterprise solutions space.” He emphasized the importance of leveraging ADG’s local knowledge and expertise to deliver cutting-edge solutions tailored specifically for the Vietnamese market.
Vu Minh Tuan, the chairman and founder of ADG, echoed similar sentiments, expressing excitement about joining forces with M1. He noted that this partnership would empower ADG to tap into M1’s state-of-the-art technology and expertise, thereby enhancing their service delivery and driving growth within Vietnam.
The completion of this transaction is anticipated in the first quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of mutually agreed-upon conditions. As M1 embarks on this promising venture, both companies are set to navigate the evolving landscape of technology in Vietnam, fostering innovation and enhancing the capabilities within the IT sector.
