Hanoi, the bustling capital of Vietnam, is set to embark on a remarkable infrastructure project this year: the Tu Lien Bridge, part of a larger investment plan valued at VND 20 trillion (approximately $802.37 million). The Hanoi People’s Committee has been proactive in moving this project forward. They have tasked relevant agencies, including the municipal Department of Transport, to prepare a pre-feasibility report during the third quarter of this year. This approach underscores the project’s importance and its role as a cornerstone of Hanoi’s transport infrastructure development.
The Tu Lien Bridge: Key Features
Once completed, the Tu Lien Bridge will stand as the seventh bridge within inner Hanoi, joining the ranks of notable structures like Thang Long, Nhat Tan, Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, and Thanh Tri. Its significance lies not only in connecting various districts of the city but also in linking the inner city with outlying districts, thereby facilitating smoother transit and reducing congestion.
This bridge is part of a larger plan involving a total of 18 bridges across the Red River, with nine already operational and nine currently under planning stages.

The Tu Lien Bridge is set to be a stunning cable-stayed structure stretching 2.9 kilometers in length, crossing the scenic Red River. It will connect the Tay Ho district, known for its picturesque landscapes, with the suburban Dong Anh district. In addition, the road linked to the bridge will extend 11.5 kilometers to the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway, further enhancing the region’s accessibility.

This collaboration aims to explore the construction of both the Tu Lien Bridge and the upcoming metro line No. 5, showcasing a commitment to modernizing Hanoi’s transport framework.
